Meet Collin Fellows from Portland Oregon. When I am creating, my focus is on the way that color interacts with shape and is influenced by light. Much of my work is influenced by classic cubists and surrealists but covers all artistic styles. In line with two of my favorite artists, Rene Magritte and Peter Max, neither the colors or the shapes must be what the mind has been trained to expect. It is the challenge of breaking down those preconceptions yet maintaining an understandability in my product that keeps me changing and growing as an artist. Although a relative newcomer to the glass art scene, my work is already included in a number of private collections along the west coast. Recent shows and locations where I have had work include; 2002 ONDA Gallery, Portland, OR 2002 Glass Roots, Portland, OR 2002 Codex of Queer Art, Portland, OR 2002 Alberta Arts Pavilion & Our Dream Gallery, Portland, OR 2002 Amazin' Glazin, Portland, OR 2003 Crystal Heart. Beaverton, OR 2003 Coffee People, Beaverton, OR I have studied with Columbus College of Art and Design, Columbus, OH; Cline’s Glass, Portland, OR Tim Dorland (Corning, OR) Roger V Thomas (Portland, OR) Portland Community College (Portland, OR)
My partner, Marlin Hofer, just caught the glass bug. Check out his first project on the Fused Glass Page Contact me at email.
