One of my earliest designs. The choice of glass for the gown almost
makes it look like it is floating above the water. Using solder I
created the drops of oil that are pouring our onto the water from her vase.
This client had some old glass that had blown out
of the church that he grew up going to. He wanted something that meant
something to him and a way to preserve the glass. The deck of the boat is
that glass.
This boat was fun to do. There was more rigging
than I expected and I started to get carried away with little details like
rope coils on deck, an anchor, porthole windows, etc.
American Quilts. I am doing a series of 6" X 6"
blocks of traditional and not so traditional quilt patterns. I hope to be
marketing them soon to local quilt shops. I can do patterns from my stock
or ones that have family significance to a client.
This is the beginning of an experiment in solder
sculpting on glass.
A Tiffany inspired design of daffodils. The lamp
is huge. Stands 22" high.
A 2' X 3' oceanic theme. The addition of clear
"bubbles" into the waves keep the eye moving around and give the piece a
lively feel.
